Museum of Islamic Art, Doha, Qatar seeking a Book & Paper Conservator to care for, preserve, and conserve the museum’s paper-based collections, including manuscripts, prints, and archival materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess condition and carry out treatments for books, manuscripts, and works on paper
Implement preventive conservation measures (environment, storage, handling)
Support digitization and exhibition preparation
Maintain conservation lab tools and documentation
Train staff in safe handling of paper-based collections
Qualifications:
Master’s in Book & Paper Conservation or related field
3–5 years experience in museum/libraries/conservation institutions
Knowledge of paper conservation techniques, environmental monitoring, and preventive conservation standards
Familiarity with collection management databases
